The place we call home.

A delightful town situated only 30 minutes from Hamilton, the major city in the Waikato province in New Zealand’s North Island.

Part of the Waipa District, known as the Home of Champions, Cambridge is known as Tree Town given it’s extensive display of trees.

Known for it’s beautiful tree-lined streets and relaxing rural surrounds, Cambridge is home to leading horse stud farms and has for many years produced world-renowned thoroughbred race horses and standard bred harness racing horses.

A true sporting centre, Cambridge has magnificent facilities for cycling, equestrian, polo and aquatic sports such as rowing, kayaking, canoeing and the unique New Zealand waka racing.

Home to 15,000 people Cambridge has a lovely, low-rise town centre featuring an iconic cricket ground alongside the attractive main street and town centre. The town has a wide range of excellent restaurants, bars and entertainment centres.

In addition to the sporting emphasis of the town, is the craft movement with a range of skilled crafts people produce. Professionals and amateurs are engaged in craft activities that attract attention throughout new Zealand. Craft groups meet regularly and enjoy their hobbies amongst good company and in outstanding surroundings.

A special town that has been home for Dianne for the past 4 years following a successful career in events and tourism. “It is appropriate that we have come to Cambridge-almost a home coming as my father-in-law’s grandfather settled in Cambridge in 1880 and raised his family here including my grandfather-in-law who was born and raised here”.

The Cambridge Crafts business evolved from Dianne’s love of knitting, wool and woollen wear and her active participation in the local Creative Crafts Group.

Cambridge, a wonderful small town that is an appropriate home for Cambridge Crafts.
